The topic for this month is “Human Rights in a post COVID world“. This event will take place virtually on May 24th & 26th, 2021 at 4pm.
Meet Our Two Prominent Speakers: 
Dr. Omowunmi Ogunyemi, 
Pan Atlantic University Lagos.
Dr. Omowumi Ogunyemi obtained her first degree in medicine and surgery. She has worked as a medical practitioner in various hospitals in Nigeria before her post-graduate studies in philosophical anthropology and Ethics. She holds a licentiate degree and a doctorate in philosophy.
She won the 2014 DISF award for best interdisciplinary research paper. Currently, she lectures in the Institute of Humanities of the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria. Her areas of research interest include interdisciplinary studies between philosophy and practical sciences, and her work links narrative philosophy with contemporary scientific studies.
Specific topics of interest include: The temporal experience of humans, narrative self- understanding, self-development and character building over time involving all aspects of one’s life, character strengths and their relationship to virtues in theory and practice.

Mr. Jamil Rashid, 

Mander Portman Woodward Colleges, UK

After graduating with an honours degree in Politics and Government in 1981, Jamil Rashid joined the British Civil Service for a successful 28-year career. Within that period, he completed a PG Diploma in Film Studies and master’s degree in Politics and Contemporary History.

After leaving the civil service in 2011, he completed a PGCE in post-compulsory education at the IoE at University College London, with teacher training at City and Islington Sixth Form College.

He joined MPW in 2013 and has been teaching Philosophy/Religious Studies, and Politics throughout along with Sociology and IFP/NCUK courses. He is a moderator for AQA for History coursework, an examiner for OCR for History A Level, and have been an examiner for CIE/Cambridge Assessment for Global Perspectives for the last 7 years.
